Life One Day At A Time: Fishing Trip

Adam had borrowed his dad's boat for the teen camping trip, so he thought we should take the family out fishing a night. I really didn't feel comfortable taking Addie along (especially after she had such a fit on our paddle boat experience) so she stayed with my parents. The boys were super excited to go. As we were pulling out the driveway I noticed the sky was really starting to get dark. I asked Adam if he'd checked the weather and he said nope. The whole way to C-burg it seemed like it was getting darker. When we first got to Cowen's Gap, we really didn't go to far out in the lake, because the sky was so dark. We were fortunate though that it only rained a little bit and then it cleared up and turned out to be a nice evening. The fishing was pretty poor. Daddy couldn't even see fish on his fish finder. Daddy knew Mommy was questioning his purchase of the fish finder and he kept reassuring us that a lot of fish showed up on it at Raystown. The boys were pretty bummed by the end of the night (especially Daddy) to not caught any fish, but they still had a lot of fun. Daddy had the rods all set up with bobbers, but they had great difficulty just letting their line out in the water. They wanted to cast and reel it in and cast again (which caused Daddy some frustration). Mommy's job was to take pictures. We let Daddy handle the worms. :) It was fun for me to watch the boys. They are growing up so much! Adam and I have looked forward to them growing up so we could do things with them. Tonight was a great night for that!
